Mom & Tina’s Blueberry Cheesecake

My youngest daughter loves blueberry cheesecake, so do I.  We like trying out every blueberry cheesecake we encounter, whether it is from a restaurant, bakeshop or even food bazaar.  We love tasting and comparing which blueberry cheesecake tastes better.  And our recent blueberry cheesecake tasting was from Mom & Tina’s.  M&T’s blueberry cheesecake is a thick cheesecake on a graham crust topped with blueberries.  It is more likely served on a personal size and not served by the slice.  So, the shape is round.  The blueberries and cheesecake satisfied our taste palette but the crust was a little bit sweet for us.  Yet I must say, I would like to have another serving.

I Love Seafood!

I have a confession.  Though it could kill me, I can’t help myself and stop…eating seafood.  I’m a shrimpaholic and crabaholic!  These food could kill me coz I have allergies on most of the seafood.  But I can’t help myself.  Once in a while I allow myself to relax and just be free.  And the better way to do it is to share it with your friends.

Just recently, my friends & I had lunch at Clawdaddy’s in Bonifacio High  Street and we had so much fun sharing a delicious meal!  We just ordered grilled tuna belly and seafood shellfish boiling bag.  Of course, we ordered rice too.  The content of the bag was enough to feed 3-4 people.  It was really wonderful for sharing.  The bag had crabs, fresh water prawns, South Pacific clams, green mussels, Manila clams, Andouille sausage, potatoes and corn.  Everything in the bag was freshly cooked and delightfully scrumptious. Definitely we had fun!  We dined, we ate and we laughed.  For a moment, I totally forgot about my allergy until I could feel that the symptoms were starting to kick off.  Since I got used to it, I know how to handle it.  And so, I’m still alive and kicking!

Activities In Boracay

There are lots of things you can do in Boracay.  Aside from dining in some fancy restaurants and swimming, there’s a lot more fun to do in this Island.

Parasailing.  You’ll be put in parachute attached to the speedboat and allow you to go ascend while the speedboat tows the parachute.  It’s like kiting on a boat, but this time you are in the parachute.  This activity costs at least P1,000 per person and you’ll be ascended at most until 15 minutes.

Banana Boat.  Have fun riding on an inflatable boat shaped like a banana.  The banana boat is dragged by speeding speedboat and allows you to bounce back and forth.  It’s more thrilling once you are dropped on the sea water.  Unlike the other water activity this is not expensive.  One ride costs only at least P3,00 per person.

Helmet Diving.  You don’t need to show a diving certificate before you can do this.  You’ll be submerged under the seawater with a helmet.  The helmet allows you to breathe underwater.  You’ll be able to walk under the sea and witness for awhile the wonders that the sea holds.  This activity costs at least P700 per person inclusive of souvenir photos and video.

Parasailing.  Witness the sunset in the island while nestled on a net on the sailboat and sailing across the sea.  It’s the most relaxing activity!  Enjoy watching the sunset, feel the breeze of the saltwater and listen to the calm waves of the sea.  This activity won’t cost you much.  It’s only at least P250 per person.

Jet Skiing.  This is one of the first activities in Boracay.  Enjoy riding the jet ski for half an hour and it costs at least P2,000.

Island Hopping.  The name said it so.  You hire a boat to have a tour on the island and the nearby islands.  This activity would be at least 3 hours or more.  The cost depends on the number of people riding the boat, it will not be lower than P2,000.

ATV Riding.  Wanna explore the island via land?  This activity might be for you.  But unfortunately we didn’t try this one.  The kids preferred water activities.  Maybe next time.

Tip:  Use your negotiation skills and don’t hesitate to bargain on the cost.

Things To Consider When Going to Boracay

If you want to fully enjoy your stay in this wonderful island of Boracay, you must prepare yourself with the following:

Budget – If you want your stay to be fun-filled and do all sort of activities the island can offer, you must have saved a lot coz as if it would literally rob you!  Each activity per pax is a bit costly.  Not to mention your budget for food.  The cost/prize of each commodity in this island is higher than the usual SRP you get from regular stores.  You think that a regular food chain like Mcdo has a standard price, think again!

Accommodation – Look for accommodations that offer special promo especially if you schedule your getaway on summer time.  It's best that the place you chose to stay has packages that include round trip land and sea transfer.  This way you won’t worry a thing.  You’ll be treated like a VIP.  Don’t hesitate to splurge a little.  That is why it's called a getaway/vacation!

Protection -  You must protect yourself from the raging heat of the sun.  You need plenty of sun block and moisturizer.  The key is apply and retouch.

Energy -  Your stay of 3D2N in Boracay would be full of activities from sun up to sun down.  The moment you step on the island you must be physically fit or you’d missed a lot.  Energy! Energy! You must have plenty of this.  Don’t let fatigue ruin your getaway because you lack energy.

Tip:  Take advantage of the search engine in the internet.  Surf! Surf!  So, you’ll know what’s the best deal in island.
